Ingredients for French Bread Pizza

Bread – French bread from the bread aisle is perfect. Frozen French bread can be used, but should be thawed first.

Sauce – Use pizza sauce from a jar or leftover pasta sauce. Give your French bread pizza a kick of heat with a drizzle of Buffalo sauce, or drizzle it on top once cooked.

Cheese – Pre-shredded mozzarella or Italian blends make for easy prepping. You can mix and match cheeses to your taste. Other cheeses that go well on pizza include pepper jack, Monterey jack, Parmesan, and Asiago.

How to Make French Bread Pizza in the Air Fryer

  1. Cut the French bread loaf lengthwise and cut each half in two (per the recipe below).

  3. Remove from the air fryer basket and spread with pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  4. Place back in the air fryer and cook until the cheese is browned, and toppings are sizzling.

Leftovers?

  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Wrap tightly in plastic to prevent drying out.
  • From the fridge, reheat leftover pizza in the air fryer. Set the temperature to 375°F and cook for 2 minutes. Check for burning after one minute.
  • Store in the freezer by wrapping individual portions in foil, and then in zip freezer bags.
  • From the freezer, reheat by preheating the air fryer to 400°F. Cook for 4 minutes, checking frequently for burning.

French Bread Pizza in Air Fryer

French bread pizza in the Air Fryer is a simple and easy way to enjoy cheesy delicious pizza.
Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 7 minutes
Total Time 9 minutes
Servings 4

Equipment

Ingredients  

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • ¼ cup garlic butter*
  • cups pizza sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • toppings as desired pepperoni, ham, sausage, onions, mushrooms, peppers etc.

Instructions 

  • Preheat air fryer to 400℉.
  • Slice the loaf of French bread lengthwise and then slice in half to make 4 pieces. Spread the garlic butter over the bread.
  • Place 2 of the slices (or however many will fit cut-side up in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 2 minutes until garlic butter is melted and bread is starting to crisp. Repeat with remaining slices.
  • Spread pizza sauce over the bread, followed by the mozzarella and pizza toppings.
  • Place back into the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes or until cheese is browned and bubbly. Repeat with remaining slices.

Notes

If you don’t have garlic butter, you can make your own by combining a 1/4 cup of butter with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried oregano.
Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for 4 days.
