Pork Chops – The best choice for these pork chops is a boneless cut of meat. If there is a bone, then cut it out. If using frozen chops, increase the cooking time accordingly. Choose thin cuts of meat, or if the cuts are thick, pound them with a meat mallet to the desired thinness.

Coating – Any breadcrumb coating will work, however Panko becomes deliciously crispy in the Air Fryer. For a keto (and gluten-free) version use almond flour, instead of flour, and substitute with a gluten-free bread crumb coating. Add extra seasonings like Italian, or southwest seasoning for extra flavor.

  1. Pat pork chops dry (per the recipe below).
  2. Set up three dishes for flour, eggs, and bread crumbs.
  3. Dip chops in each bowl and cook until crispy.

Air Fryer Breaded Pork Chops

These Air Fryer breaded pork chops have a crispy outer coating and juicy tender meat.

Equipment

Ingredients  

  • 4 boneless pork chops ½ inch thick
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup flour
  • cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg beaten with one tablespoon of water
  • cooking spray

Instructions 

  • Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season well with salt and pepper.
  • Set up three shallow dishes. In the first dish combine garlic powder and flour. In the second, stir together the bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. In the last, beat an egg with 1 tablespoon of water until well blended.
  • Coat each chop in the flour mixture, followed by the egg wash, followed by the breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400℉.
  • Spray each chop with cooking spray on both sides and place in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren't touching.
  • Air fry for 5 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 4-6 minutes or until the thickest part reaches 140℉.
  • Remove from air fryer basket and let rest 5 minutes before serving.
