Instant Vortex Air Fryer Roast Beef

The classic roast beef dinner can be made in your Air Fryer in less than 25 minutes!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 17 minutes
Total Time 22 minutes
Servings 6 servings

Equipment

Ingredients  

  • 2 pounds beef roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt & pepper
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary fresh or dried
  • 1 teaspoon thyme fresh or dried
  • 1 medium onion optional

Instructions 

  • Preheat the Vortex air fryer to 390°F.
  • Pat the beef roast dry with paper towels. Sprinkle the roast with olive oil and seasonings and rub to cover well.
  • Place the roast beef in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes. Check temp. If not the desired temp, put it back in for a few minutes. *See notes for temperature
  • Remove roast beef from the air fryer when you have reached the desired temp.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and leave to rest for at least ten minutes before serving.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

Rare 125°F - Medium 135°F - Medium 145°F - Medium Well 150°F - Well 160°F
Putting foil on the meat allows it to finish cooking and the juices to reabsorb into the meat.

    1. Hi Jill, I would make sure it wasn’t dripping in the marinade but you could skip the step of patting dry to avoid rubbing off the delicious marinade. You will have to let us know how it turns out and whether you cook it in a pan or not!

  1. is it preheat to whatever and then drop it down to the desired cooking temperature for the amount of time required to get what you want? rare at 120 for 10 minutes for example? want that rare result
    and you can pull the meat away with a fork. drops off the bone with no effort.

    1. Hi William, you will still cook the roast beef at 390°F in the air fryer. Those temperatures listed are the internal temperatures for that type of beef (rare, medium, well done). So cook for 15 minutes at 390F, check the internal temperature then continue cooking until it reached your desired internal temperature. Hope that helps!

    1. Hi Norma, you can use any beef roast you have on hand. But I really enjoy using a beef tenderloin roast though for tenderness. Enjoy!
