Beef – Besides ground beef, Air Fryer meatballs can also work with a combination of ground turkey, chicken, or pork.

Breading – Storebought or homemade breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese are excellent binders for Air Fryer meatballs.

Variations – Change up the seasonings and add a dash of cumin, cayenne, taco seasoning, or a splash of Tabasco for a little heat.

How Long to Cook Meatballs in the Air Fryer

Have these homemade meatballs ready in no time using the air fryer!

  1. Blend all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Shape meatballs into 16 portions and cook in the air fryer (per the recipe below).
  3. Allow to rest about 5 minutes before serving.

Tips for Preparing Meatballs Ahead

  • For the best results, avoid overmixing the meat mixture or the meatballs will become tough and dry.
  • Use an ice cream scoop to ensure that the meatballs are all the same size.
  • Place clean coffee filters on the bottom of the air fryer basket or tray to soak up some of the oil for faster cleanup!
  • Make a few batches and freeze them for future recipes! Freeze them in a single layer on a baking sheet before transferring them to a zippered bag. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Store cooked and cooled meatballs in an airtight container for up to 3 days and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Assemble them raw and freeze or cook and freeze once cooled! Simply cook from frozen or reheat from frozen in the air fryer!

Homemade Meatballs in the Air Fryer

Air fryer meatballs are a quick and easy dinner, snack or appetizer solution! Versatile and delicious on spaghetti, in subs, or on toothpicks for dipping in BBQ sauce!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 14 minutes
Total Time 24 minutes
Servings 16 Meatballs

Equipment

Ingredients  

  • 1 pound ground beef or pork or turkey
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions 

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F.
  • In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until fully incorporated.
  • Divide the mixture evenly into 16 meatballs.
  • Place them in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-14 minutes or until they reach 165°F internally.

Notes

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 days or in the freezer for 3 months. 
For cooking in a rotisserie basket: 
  • Add meatballs to the rotisserie basket and place into the air fryer. 
  • Turn the air fryer on “Rotate” at 380°F and cook for 10 minutes.
Note: When using a rotisserie basket, do not preheat the air fryer as the basket will be too hot to handle.
