A few weeks ago my Instant Vortex Plus stopped working. The light inside came on but the control panel was dead. I had purchased it through Walmart.com so I was able to look up the purchase and I was under the one year mark! YAY!!!

Whenever you buy a new appliance it is a good idea to register the warranty. I should have but didn’t. I was able to register it online and I filed a claim. They responded within a few days and they approved my request. I am getting a new one!

Here is what you need to do if your Vortex stops working:

If that doesn’t work, you will need to put in a claim. You have a one-year warranty so don’t wait to make your claim!

  1. LED Timer is a common defect. I bought one for each of my houses and a couple as gifts for family members and all 5 have all become useless within 1 – 1.5 years due to the display not working. This is a brand to avoid if you are in the market for an air fryer.

  2. Our vortex air fryer displays open, but nothing else. How do we get it to work again opening the door does nothing when the door closes it just says open. No other features work.

    1. That is unfortunate! I’m sorry to hear it isn’t holding up as expected. The best thing to do is to reach out to the manufacturer and see if there is anything they can suggest. I hope that helps!

  3. We bought our Instant Vortex Plus in June of 2021. We really like it, but it’s just over a year old now and the LED Display is burning out. We lose a piece of the numbers/OFF display every few days. Before long we won’t be able to read it at all.

    1. That is unfortunate! I’m sorry to hear it isn’t holding up as expected. The best thing to do is to reach out to the manufacturer and see if there is anything they can suggest. I hope that helps!

    2. I have the same issue and got a replacement under warranty just several months in of owning it. The replacement unit lasted a while but was plagued with the same issue. The LED display is failing. I’m pretty certain it’s a design flaw with the Instant Vortex Plus units specifically where they didn’t properly seal off the compartment containing the electronics/LED so steam gets inside and eventually corrodes the electronics. I reached out to Instant support and they failed to provide a satisfactory resolution to what clearly is a design defect. I think they offered me a 10-20% off coupon to buy another unit – makes no sense at all. Why would I buy another product that the company can’t stand behind? I’ll be buying another brand of this oven (same rotisserie style oven) but with a different design that doesn’t suffer from this problem when the thing is completely unusable.

  4. Received the vortex plus air fryer as a Christmas gift last year and it stopped working. Unfortunately I don’t have a receipt since it was a gift.

    1. Oh no, I am sorry to hear that Christy. The best thing to do is to reach out to the manufacturer and see if there is anything they can suggest. Hopefully, you are able to get it sorted out.

  5. I had purchased mine early April 2021, received it on April 23 and it worked well until two months to the day later no electric current at all. Fortunately, like you all are aware, I received amazingly quick assistance and just received my replacement today (July 7, 2021). I pray that our defective machines were an exception rather than the rule as it is truly an amazing appliance!

  6. My product was purchased on June 7, 2020. On June 27, 2021 it stopped working in the middle of dinner. It popped and went off. When I checked it was also very hot. It is barely over a year, is there anyway it can still be covered?

    1. Sorry to hear that Sherri, you will want to reach out to Vortex customer service to see if there is anything they can help you with!

    2. Mine crapped out after 14 months. I won’t buy InstaPot again as it seems they don’t last. I had a toaster oven that last 10 years. Also had to replace my InstaPot Mini after a year.

      1. Hi Deb, we totally understand how that can be frustrating. We do love air frying and have a few others we use and love as well! Check out our Air Fryer Guide for more information.

  7. Just got mine Out of the box to do the initial run and you can’t push the buttons they won’t work. They light up but that’s it
