Ingredients & Variations
PORK CHOPS: Boneless center-cut chops are uniform in shape and size and fit perfectly in an air fryer basket or tray! Bone-in chops work, too – check for doneness using a meat thermometer. Pork should be at 145°F.
SEASONINGS: Just a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar and some savory seasonings make the glaze for flavorful chops. Freshly minced garlic, some red pepper flakes, or a dash of teriyaki sauce can be added to punch up the flavors if desired. Leftover bacon grease can be melted and used in place of oil.
How to Make Brown Sugar Pork Chops
This meal will be ready to serve in 20 minutes. Just follow these steps:
- Mix dry seasoning ingredients together.
- Coat the chops with oil and rub in the seasonings.
- Cook pork chops until they are tender and the glaze is caramelized on the outside, and flip them halfway through cooking.
Serve brown sugar pork chops with other air fryer sides, like twice-baked potatoes, brussels sprouts, or carrots.
Tips for Juicy Air Fryer Pork Chops
- Prep the pork chops in the morning so the marinade can infuse into the meat and save on evening prep time!
- Be sure to pat pork chops dry with a paper towel so the brown sugar seasoning can adhere.
- For best results, let the finished pork chops rest about 3 minutes before cutting, this helps seal the juices into the meat.

I’ve had these many times & we love them!
So happy to hear that, Brenda!
Looks amazing, smells amazing, tastes amazing. The only critique I have is the time it took to cook. Recipe says 12 minutes with a flip at the half-way point. I did this and when I took the chops out of the air fryer, the thermometer only registered 70 degrees F. Put them in 6 more minutes and registered 90 degrees F and the once more for 6 minutes and registered 130 degrees F. Chops I used were 1.5 inches thick.
I am sorry to hear that, Julie! Ours definitely did not take that long. Maybe your pork chops were thicker?
Can this recipe be cooked in an oven? I like the combo of the ingredients. If you think it can be done in oven, what temp, pan, cook time and need to flip part way.
I followed Holly a lot.
Hi Shirley, yes these can be made in the oven. I would follow this recipe. I hope that helps!
I did this and mine were completely raw in the middle.
Oh no! I am sorry to hear that Morgan. Were your pork chops thicker than 1 ½ – 2 inches? The thicker the pork chop the longer it will take the fully cook. Did you preheat your air fryer to 400°F? Adding the pork chops before it is preheated will increase the cooking time as well. Hope that helps!
Why does this site almost NEVER say which level to place the tray on! 1, 2, or 3!
For this recipe, level 2 will work well. Hope that helps Marilyn.
