A simple marinade of lime juice, cumin, and garlic and a little time for marinating are all that is needed for a tasty steak. Simply prepare the marinade the night before, let the beef marinate, and then cook the flank steak in the Air Fryer.

Easy Air Fryer Flank Steak

Ingredients and Variations

Flank Steak – Flank steak is a cut of meat that has very little fat. Marinating it will tenderize the meat and cooking it at high temperature will ensure it remains tender and juicy. Steaks frozen? No worries, just increase the cooking time by 10 minutes or so.

Marinade – Cumin, garlic, oil, and lime juice are all that are needed for this simple marinade. Just mix, pour over the steak, and allow to marinade for 1 to 12 hours.

How to Make Flank Steak in the Air Fryer

  1. Whisk together the marinade (as per the recipe below).
  2. In a freezer bag combine the marinade and the steak. Allow to marinate for 1-12 hours.
  3. Remove steaks from the bag and pat dry. Brush with oil.
  4. Preheat the Air fryer to 400°F and cook.

For medium rare steaks cook until internal temperature is 122°F. For medium steaks cook until the temperature is 128°F.

Storing Leftover Flank Steak

Leftover flank steak will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or in the freezer for 4 months. Freeze as whole steaks, or chop them into pieces and use them later for a stir fry, or a stew.

Air Fryer Flank Steak

This Air Fryer flank steak recipe makes juicy and tender steaks every time!

Ingredients  

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt more to taste

For Serving

  • fresh cilantro leaves
  • lime wedges

Instructions 

  • Diagonally score the top of the steaks 1/8-inch deep, and repeat the opposite way to create a diamond pattern.
  • In a freezer bag, combine the flank steak, 3 tablespoons of oil, lime juice, cumin, garlic powder, and salt. Add the flank steak and marinate at least 2 hours or up to 12 hours.
  • Remove the steaks from the marinade and discard the marinade. Gently pat the steaks dry with a paper towel.
  • Brush with oil and season with ½ teaspoon additional salt if desired.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Place the steak in the air-fryer basket and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until the steak is browned and reaches 130°F for medium rare or 140°F for medium.
  • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes and cut across the grain.
