Ingredients & Variations
Frozen Hash Brown Patties – Find frozen shredded hash brown patties in the freezer aisle in most grocery stores. This recipe also applies to frozen tater tots, frozen shredded hash browns, and cubed or diced potatoes, too!
Variations – Frozen hashbrown patties come coated in oil and salt to make them crispy, but for extra flavor, spray oil on them and sprinkle with your favorite seasoning. We like Ranch, or a zesty adobo blend. Or make your own spice blend for garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a little pepper for great flavor. Brush a thin layer of buffalo sauce on frozen hashbrowns before air frying for a spicy kick!
For dipping, ketchup is a classic choice. Or try a spicy aioli or your favorite dipping sauce.

How to Make Frozen Hash Browns in the Air Fryer
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F. Cook frozen patties in a single layer for 6 minutes.
- Flip them over with tongs and air fry until they’re golden brown and crispy. Serve hot.
Be sure to do them in a single layer and cook in batches if necessary to get perfectly crispy hash browns.
PRO TIP:
Line the air fryer basket with a plain coffee filter to soak up any oil for easy cleanup!
Storage & Reheating Hash Browns
Keep leftover hash browns in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat them in the air fryer or in the oven under the broiler until they crisp up again.
