Air fryer frozen fries taste the best!
An air fryer is one of the best ways to cook French fries! They come out extra crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside! And the best part is that they are ready to eat in no time, with minimal oil and super easy cleanup.
Air Fryer Frozen French Fries
- Frozen French fries are so easy to make in the Corsori, Ninja, or Vortex air fryer! Just set for temperature and time and wait for the deliciousness to happen!
- Make quick and easy fries that are perfect paired with burgers, hot dogs, or just as an after-school snack!
- The air fryer makes food in an instant, takes up less space, and keeps the oven from overheating the kitchen.
- Frozen French fries are an easy beginner recipe for home cooks new to using the air fryer as well as (supervised) kids!
Easy Ingredients
FRIES: Choose your potato! This recipe is perfect for steak fries, shoestring, waffles, or wedges! Best of all, they go straight into the air fryer from frozen and come out with golden crispy edges and fluffy insides!
SEASONINGS: Salt is great on French fries, but why not season them up a bit? We like a spicy taco flavor, a savory Cajun taste, or even a fun Ranch flavor. Dip them in some tasty microwave buffalo sauce.
How to Cook Frozen Fries in the Air Fryer
- Place frozen fries in a single layer in the bottom of the air fryer and cook (per recipe below) or until they reach desired crispiness.
- Season with salt and serve hot with ketchup or your favorite dip.
Tips for Perfect Fries
- Always preheat the air fryer before making air fryer French fries. The hot air will instantly seal the outside of the fries making them extra crispy.
- Keep them in a single layer and if making in batches, keep cooked fries warm in the oven.
- Place all the finished fries under the broiler to crisp them all up before serving.

Just got an air fryer and feel like I need to try everything. This recipe was so easy to make!
We know the feeling!
this french fry recipe (temp and time) is different from the Vortex Aur Dryer Cooking Times print out. That document says 400F for 5-10 mins. This one says 14-16 mins.. which is most accurate?
Hi Taylor, for this recipe we find cooking at 400°F for 14-16 minutes provides the best results when using frozen french fries. You can check them around the 5-10 minutes mark and adjust accordingly.
I tried oozing for 16 minutes – fries not crispy. Cooked an additional 4 min and they were so tough we couldn’t eat them. So far all recipes I’ve tried are failures. Any suggestions?
Sorry, this recipe didn’t work out for you Linda. Some tips we have – We shake the fries after 10 minutes to ensure they get extra crispy and add them to the air fryer in a single layer. You will also want to make sure you aren’t using thick-cut fries, as those will take longer to cook through.
