These homemade keto chocolate chip cookies are the best cookies you’ll ever have! They are chewy in the middle, crunchy on the outside and packed with chocolate flavor. No one will ever know they are low carb cookies.
There’s nothing quite as comforting as a good chocolate chip cookie. But did you know you can make low carb chocolate chip cookies that taste just like the traditional ones? I’m talking about real keto cookies here, no flour, no sugar but so good you won’t even think about those things when eating them.
I mean, if a sugar-free chocolate chip cookie is not your cookie heaven, then I don’t know what else can be.
What ingredients are used in keto chocolate chip cookies
Almost all my low carb cookies are based on the same keto cookie recipe that’s foolproof and incredibly delicious. I then just play a bit with the ratios of the ingredients and the mix-ins to customize it.
The ingredients we are going to be using are:
- Butter
- Cream cheese
- Eggs
- Coconut flour
- Erythritol or your favorite sweetener
- Sugar-free chocolate chip cookies
That’s only 6 ingredients!
And you can swap the cream cheese and butter for ghee if you want to make them paleo chocolate chip cookies or for coconut oil.
How to make the very best keto chocolate chip cookies ever. Hint: Air fry them
If you want to make the very best keto chocolate chip cookies
Cookies that are chewy in the middle but crunchy on the outside
Cookies that are golden brown and oh so beautiful
Low carb cookies that taste like heaven
Well, you need to air fry them!
Air frying these chocolate chip cookies is what gives them that really amazing texture. It’s honestly one of the best cooking methods I found for cookies.
Make a large batch of them, trust me when I say everyone will want to grab just one more.

So delicious! Just tried it today, very good proportions and thank you so much for the recipe! Currently trying to cut on added sugars but still to satisfy my sweet tooth. These cookies made my day! Didn’t have chocolate chips, so substituted with cacao nibs and turned out well, bitterish, deep flavor.
So happy you enjoyed this recipe too, Marie!
I made a batch and they were delicious. I used 1 cup of almond flour since I did not have coconut flour. My air fryer required me to bake them 10 minutes. Excellent and quick recipe, thank you.
So glad you enjoyed them Hijade! Happy to hear they work with almond flour too.
Ummmmm… followed the recipe to a T and they were a huge flop. My air fryer has multiple settings (grill, air crisp, roast, & bake). I tried 2 different settings (bake and air crisp) to no avail I’m not convinced your picture is an actual picture of this recipe Mine looked too done on the outside, not done on the inside, were not even a little crisp, and tasted terrible. Sadly, it was a waste of my time, waste of money, waste of ingredients, and waste of energy. I’m so sad…I was so excited for some chocolate chip cookies without having to make “real” ones. I’m hoping others have had better success and perhaps can give direction on what went wrong. Good luck!!
I am so sorry to hear that Elizabeth! For this recipe you can use either setting, we often use bake and adjust the temperature to 350°F. Be sure to let the dough rest for 10 minutes before putting it in the air fryer and don’t forget to let it fully preheat. Hope that helps!
Is there a recommended substition for coconut flour, due to coconut allergy? Thank you,
Hi Sandy, we have only tried this recipe as written but another reader tried making this recipe with almond flour with success. It did require a longer cooking time though. Hopefully, that helps!
